Saul Olivera Mego — El Eucalipto Geisha
Cajamarca, Peru · Washed
High in the mountains of Cajamarca, coffee grows among steep hillsides and cool Andean air. At these elevations the cherries ripen slowly, developing the clarity and delicate aromatics that make high-altitude coffees so distinctive.
This lot was produced by Saul Olivera Mego on his farm El Eucalipto, where the Geisha variety thrives in the region’s mineral-rich soil and cool climate. Known for its refined structure and expressive aromatics, Geisha is celebrated for producing coffees with remarkable elegance in the cup.
After harvest, ripe cherries are carefully hand-selected and depulped, then fermented to remove the remaining mucilage before being fully washed. The parchment coffee is then dried slowly under controlled conditions, preserving the delicate floral and fruit character that defines the variety.
In the cup, the profile is bright and graceful. Floral aromatics open the experience, followed by vibrant citrus notes of lime and the gentle sweetness of peach. The acidity is lively and precise, supported by a silky texture and a clean, lingering finish.
A beautifully elegant Geisha —
floral, vibrant, and quietly complex.
