Tablón de Gómez — Nariño

Colombia · Washed

High in the southern Andes of Nariño, coffee grows close to the sky.

The region of Tablón de Gómez is known for dramatic elevations, volcanic soil, and cool mountain nights that slow the ripening of coffee cherries. At around 2,000–2,100 meters above sea level, the cherries develop dense structure, vibrant acidity, and the layered sweetness that has made Nariño coffees some of the most sought-after in Colombia.

This lot is produced by smallholder farmers from the surrounding mountains, where coffee farming is often done on steep hillside plots passed down through generations.

In the cup, the profile opens with caramel and toffee sweetness, smooth and comforting. Bright fruit follows — peach and orange bringing gentle acidity and balance. As the coffee cools, a rounded note of milk chocolate settles into the finish, creating a cup that feels both lively and deeply satisfying.

The coffee is processed using the traditional washed method. After selective hand-picking, ripe cherries are depulped and fermented to remove the remaining mucilage, then fully washed and slowly dried on patios or raised beds until the coffee reaches stable moisture.

The result is a classic high-altitude Colombian profile — vibrant fruit, soft sweetness, and exceptional clarity.
