Captured tracks hit the jackpot with this amazing collection of music from Saada Bonaire, "the fantastic disco/world music project duo out of Bremen, German that was never meant to be".
Formed in the early 80s by Bremen DJ Ralf Behrendt, Saada Bonaire was based around two sultry female vocalists (Stefanie Lange and Claudia Hossfeld) who would be joined by dozens of local musicians culled from the local immigration centre. Picked up by EMI in 1982, the group's sole single "You Could Be More As You Are" was produced by studio legend Dennis Bovell and featured the sax talents of jazz icon Charlie Mariano. Despite the single being released in 1984, behind the scenes issues led to EMI dropping Saada Bonaire who promptly disappeared off the radar. This eponymous collection presents the two tracks from Saada Bonaire's single along with eleven unreleased songs recorded between 1982 and 1985 which sound amazingly current!
